Frequently Asked Questions

Clear Answers. Up-Front Pricing.

Here are answers to some of the most common questions about mobile RV service, travel, labor and what to expect when Heritage Road RV comes to you.

Service & Labor Rates

We believe customers should understand the basic pricing structure before scheduling a service visit.

Mobile Service Call

$95

Includes up to 30 miles of one-way travel.

Additional Mileage

$2.00 / mile

Applies to mileage beyond the included 30 miles, calculated one way.

Labor

$149 / hour

One-hour minimum. After the first hour, labor is billed in 15-minute increments.

The $95 Mobile Service Call is prepaid as part of confirming your appointment, reserves your scheduled visit, covers included travel, and is separate from labor. It is charged once per repair job; we do not add another service-call fee simply because we need to return with an ordered or approved part. Parts and materials are additional when needed. Any applicable travel charge will be confirmed when your appointment is scheduled.

Common Questions

If you do not see your question here, send us a message and tell us what is going on with your RV.

Does the $95 service-call fee include labor?

No. The $95 Mobile Service Call covers up to 30 miles of one-way travel. Diagnostic and repair time is billed separately at the posted labor rate.

How is travel beyond 30 miles calculated?

The $95 Mobile Service Call includes up to 30 miles of one-way travel. Beyond 30 miles, extended travel is $2.00 per additional mile, one way. When we’re already working in your area, we calculate travel from the closer of our Central Virginia service base or our preceding service location—so you don’t pay for miles we don’t have to travel. We review the applicable mileage and exact amount with you before payment.

When do I pay the Mobile Service Call?

After we review your service request, we’ll discuss a proposed date and arrival window and calculate any applicable extended travel. We then send our Service Authorization & Terms for your signature. After the agreement is signed, we send the invoice for the $95 Mobile Service Call and any applicable extended travel. Your appointment is confirmed only after the agreement is signed and that invoice is paid. Submitting the website request form by itself does not create a confirmed appointment.

Is there a minimum labor charge?

Yes. There is a one-hour minimum. After the first hour, additional labor is billed in 15-minute increments.

What is your cancellation and no-show policy?

The $95 Mobile Service Call is prepaid before your appointment is confirmed and reserves your scheduled service visit once the required agreement is signed and payment is received. Cancellations or rescheduling with at least 24 hours' notice may receive a refund or transfer the full amount to a rescheduled appointment. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are normally non-refundable. If we arrive but cannot reasonably access the RV or reach you or an authorized representative, the Mobile Service Call is considered earned and non-refundable. We understand emergencies happen and may waive or modify the policy when circumstances reasonably warrant it. If Heritage Road RV must cancel, you may choose a full refund or transfer the full amount to a rescheduled appointment. Unsafe weather may require rescheduling without penalty.

Will I pay another service-call fee if you have to return with a part?

No. Our Mobile Service Call is charged once per repair job. If we diagnose the problem and need to obtain or order an approved part, we do not charge another Mobile Service Call simply to return and complete that same repair. A new or unrelated problem is considered a new service job.

Do you charge for diagnostic time?

Yes. Troubleshooting is skilled labor and is billed as labor time. We work methodically to identify the likely cause before recommending parts or repairs.

How far will you travel?

Our primary service area covers Central Virginia from the Piedmont through the Richmond region and east toward the Middle Peninsula. Longer trips may be available depending on scheduling and location.

Where can you work on my RV?

We can often provide service at homes, campgrounds, RV parks and storage facilities, provided the location allows outside service work and there is safe access to the RV.

What types of RVs do you work on?

Heritage Road RV provides mobile service for many common systems found in motorhomes, fifth wheels and travel trailers. Contact us with your year, make, model and the problem you are experiencing.

What if I do not know what is wrong?

That is completely fine. Describe the symptoms, what happened before the problem started and anything you have already tried. Diagnosing the problem is part of the service.

Do you repair RV awnings and slide toppers?

Yes. Awning and slide-topper service can include fabric replacement, motors, switches, arms and hardware, adjustments and other common repairs.

Are parts included in the labor rate?

No. Parts, materials and specialty supplies are additional. We will discuss significant parts costs with you before proceeding whenever practical.

Do you offer a Military or First Responder discount?

Yes. Heritage Road RV offers a 10% Military / First Responder Discount on the Mobile Service Call and RV Service Labor. Parts, materials, shop supplies, and Extended Travel are excluded. Only one percentage discount may be applied to a service invoice.

Do you warranty your work?

Yes. Qualifying repairs include a 90-day limited workmanship warranty at no additional charge. If a covered repair requires correction because of our workmanship, we will correct it without additional labor or Mobile Service Call charges. Parts we supply are subject to applicable manufacturer or supplier warranties. Customer-supplied parts are not warranted by Heritage Road RV, although our workmanship installing an approved customer-supplied part remains covered for 90 days.

How should I prepare for an appointment?

Please provide your RV year, make and model, a description of the problem, your location and any relevant photos or error codes. Make sure the technician can safely access the equipment that needs service.

Do I need hookups available?

Not always. However, access to shore power, water or propane can sometimes be necessary to fully test certain systems. We can discuss what may be needed when scheduling.

Do you also service golf carts?

Yes. Golf-cart service is a secondary offering and includes common battery, charging, electrical, brake, tire, lighting and general maintenance work.
